About The PTA

PS/IS 270Q -The Gordon Parks School for Inquisitive Minds' Parent Teacher Association was established to provide support and resources to the school to benefit the educational growth and development of its students. The PTA's priority is to establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship between parents and staff.  We are able to inaugurate parent leaders by building the capacity in which one can be involved a child's education, and by fostering opportunities for parents to participate in local school governance.

Every year the PTA works to raise funds, raise awareness, and raise a child’s enthusiasm about their learning environment. One of the best ways you can support these efforts is by becoming a member of the PTA.  We understand not everyone can attend every meeting, or volunteer midday for an event, but in a very simple and easy way you can support your child and his/her teacher in a very BIG way.

The 2015-2016 PTA Board has reinstituted the use of the school's mascot, a fox, along with reintroducing our school colors of purple and gold.  When you see our purple fox, know that it symbolizes the voice of the school's PTA in presenting relevant information to the membership. The Fox will be presented in a myriad of ways as acknowledgement of the various forms of communication that are necessary to engage an informed membership.

We encourage everyone to find atleast one convenient way to "Follow The Fox" and stay PS270Q informed 24/7. Our Facebook page (linked on the bottom of the page) and The Fox Report newsletter (click on the tab above) are two.  In school we will occasionally bring you "WPTA-TV", digital media of recent or upcoming events, school and community news that will play on monitors inside the building.  You will also continue to receive phone and email blasts. Be sure to contact us below to add your phone number and/or email address to our distribution lists. Also, every 1st Thursday of each month at 6:30pm is our General Membership Meeting  which we welcome all to attend.   Our membership will always know what The Fox knows.

The Gordon Parks School for Inquisitive Minds is a great school, with dedicated staff, and engaged parents. Our continued goal is to maintain our excellence, with fully supported teachers, and 100% member participation.

The PTA supports you as you SUPPORT YOUR CHOICE of having your child attend The Gordon Parks School.
